The Foreclosure Resisters attended the Wells Fargo Shareholders Meeting on April 25th, in Florida. We wanted to protest the predatory loans that Mrs. Julie Davis (86 year old women, who has Alzheimer) was tricked in signing. Our goal was to tell Mrs. Davis’s story and demand a reasonable modification. When Mr. Sloan, CEO of Wells Fargo, heard Mrs. Davis’s story, he promised that, “Mrs. Davis would spend the rest of her life in her home”. In addition, Ms. Jenese Harris, News Anchor of Channel 4 WJXT interviewed the Foreclosure Resisters concerning Mrs. Davis’s predatory loans and televised our protest. Mrs. Davis is no longer in Foreclosure. A Victory!
The Foreclosure Resisters began taping segments at the Queens Public Television Station (QPTV) in Flushing, Queens. Mr. Jay Inwald, Director of Foreclosure Prevention for The New Yorkers for Responsible Lending (NYRL), Ken Stevens, Foreclosure Resisters and Mike Smith, Foreclosure Resisters, discussed Foreclosure related topics. The topics that we will televise are: “The Foreclosure Crisis, It is not over”, “Foreclosure Defenses for Homeowners” and the “Statutes of Limitations and the Homeowner in Foreclosure”. These segments will be available on the Queens Public Television Station (QPTV) in early 2018. Stay Tuned!
The Foreclosure Resisters voted to become a more independent organization, in 2017. We decided to start a Trading Account and buy shares in other financial organizations, so that we could attend their Shareholders Meetings and provoke change through strategic protest. That we did!
